‘+243 Echos Urbains’ Exhibition at Le Monde des Flamboyants

18.10.2019, Kinshasa, DRC – TMB is pleased to invite you to our new exhibition titled ‘+243 Echos Urbains’ which is being held at Le Monde des Flamboyants from Friday 18 October 2019 to 30 November 2019. The official opening of the exhibition will be held on Friday 18 October, at 6.00 pm.

Le Monde des Flamboyant is the permanent cultural centre of TMB, housed at its regional headquarters in Kinshasa.

TMB is delighted to host this art exhibition, which highlights works from five Congolese artists: Aembe, Mampuya, Mangindula, Matuti and Mbemba.

What comes to us when seeing these artists’ works are the echoes. Social, identity and non-conformist echoes, these are the echoes of Congolese society, which, in the eyes of the artists, had a troubled year in 2019. Every artist, every work, every message resonates in us with a certain level of vigour. There are words that sound hollow and deafening silences: the echo, by the repetition that characterizes it, spreads and always ends up being heard. Art is a reflection of society.

The exhibition is free and open to all members of the public, Monday to Friday, from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm and on Saturday, from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm. We encourage all to visit, and to explore and celebrate Congolese creativity.
