Modification in Account Numbers

31.07.2017, Lubumbashi, DRC – We would like to remind our customers that the format of the bank account numbers in the Democratic Republic of Congo has recently changed.

As per Instruction 28 of the Central Bank of the Congo relating to the standardisation of bank details, all account numbers of Congolese banks must now have 23 digits.

From now on, account numbers are referred as follows: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXXXXXXXX-XX, with:

– 5 digits for “company (bank) code”;

– 5 digits for “branch code”;

– 11 digits for “account number”;

– 2 digits for “RIB Key”.

TMB accounts will have the following format:

00017-XXXXX-XXXXXXXXXXX-XX
