Ndako Ya Bana Charity Evening

13.03.2020, Kinshasa, DRC – Kinshasa school project Ndako ya bana, proudly supported by TMB since its founding, is hosting a “Blind Test” charity fundraising evening, taking place at Pullman Hotel, on 13 March 2020, at 7.00 pm. TMB is delighted to support the event.

The evening will offer a welcome cocktail, a buffet, a tombola, and a blindtest.

Ndako ya bana means “Children’s Home” in Lingala. Ndako ya bana is an educational centre for disadvantaged children in the commune of Kintambo.

The project applies Montessori materials and pedagogy, which is an active pedagogy, open to the world, that facilitates the development of children’s’ autonomy.

The school welcomes 39 children, orphaned or having a disabled parent or whose mother is a mother-daughter.

In the long-term the project is aiming to open a school for children aged up to 12 years, with three classrooms: 3-6 years, 6-9 years, and 9-12 years. A second objective of the project is to launch adult literacy classes for parents of the school’s children.

We, at TMB, are conscious that education is the core issue to the positive development of all communities across the Congo, and we are proud to contribute to the success of this inspiring project.
