New exhibition at Le Monde des Flamboyants
13.11.2015, Kinshasa, DRC – TMB is pleased to invite you to our new exhibition of Mukalay and Mambengi’s paintings and Kengele sculptures. The exhibition is being held at Le Monde des Flamboyants from Friday 13 November to Friday 11 December.
Le Monde des Flamboyant is the permanent cultural centre of TMB, created at its regional headquarters in Kinshasa.
TMB is delighted to host three talented artists at the exhibition: painters Mukalay and Mambengi; and sculptor Kengele.
Mukalay Ngoy Lwamba is a painter, born in Kalemie, and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa, where he is now teaching. Through his deep painting, he created his own world, a world that is colorful and multifaceted, philosophical and insightful. His work is a message of peace and love, sharing and solidarity, inviting us to rethink the future of humanity.
Mambengi is a painter, and also a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa, where he is now teaching. Woman forms the dominant subject of this artist who defined himself as an expressionist. His work is characterized by the intensity of turbulent forms, continuous and discontinuous lines marking silhouettes; Mambengi uses strong, intense and harmonious colors.
Kengele is a sculptor, born in Kinshasa, first trained by his artisan father and also graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa. Wood is the basis of his expression. His art represents helical shapes and reflects the inner human sweetness and greatness.
The exhibition is free and open to all members of the public, Monday to Friday, from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm and on Saturday, from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm.
