Raising awareness on sickle cell anaemia at Le Monde des Flamboyants
19.06.2015, Kinshasa, DRC – TMB is pleased to invite you to our new exhibition on sickle cell anaemia, which is being held from Friday 19 June to Wednesday 1 July 2015 at “Le Monde des Flamboyants”.
Le Monde des Flamboyant is the permanent cultural centre of TMB, housed at the Bank’s regional headquarters in Kinshasa.
TMB is welcoming this exhibition which aims to raise awareness of this terrible disease.
Sickle cell anaemia is one of the most pervasive genetic diseases in the world, with more than 50 million people affected. Some 300,000 kids are born each year with this disease, 50% of whom will not reach their fifth birthday due to a lack of screening and appropriate care in the most affected countries.
The exhibition opens on 19 June, World Sickle Cell Day, and features some forty pieces of works.
The exhibition is free and open to all members of the public, Monday to Friday, from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm and on Saturday, from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm.
