TMB Announces Major Expansion of PEPELE Mobile

Agreement with the Congolese Post Office to see significant expansion of PEPELE Mobile network

3.05.2017, Kinshasa, DRC – TMB announced today the signing of a partnership agreement with the DRC’s Post Office (Congolese Postal and Telecommunications Company (SCPT)) to provide for the introduction of PEPELE Mobile services at SCPT facilities right across the Congo.

As part of the partnership TMB will initially rehabilitate some 60 post offices out of a network of more than 350 post offices in the country. PEPELE Mobile services will be available at each of the renewed post office outlets.

The significant investment by TMB in expanding PEPELE Mobile services right across the country is a significant vote of confidence in both the Bank’s highly innovative mobile banking product and in the economic potential of the Congo.

Commenting on the announcement, Oliver Meisenberg, CEO of TMB, noted that “SCPT, with its extensive network of locations across the country, in particular in some of the Congo’s most remote cities, is an ideal partner for TMB to support bringing PEPELE Mobile and financial services to more and more existing and future customers”.
