TMB co-sponsors Kinshasa Jazz Concert
12.04.2015, Kinshasa, DRC – TMB is delighted to support the jazz concert organised by Polyv’art and the Embassy of the United States of America in the DRC, taking place Sunday 12 April 2015 at 4pm, at the Embassy of the United States.
The concert is preceded by a two-day training programme for disadvantaged young musicians, and showcases The Adam Larson Quartet accompanied by 20 musicians from Kinshasa.
This initiative aims to strengthen capacities of young musicians and give them an opportunity to perform. The concert also intends to promote cultural exchanges between communities and allow citizens from Kinshasa to discover jazz.
Polyv’art is an artists’platform created in 2010, located in the district of Masina. It works in training, guidance and promotion of creative artists and young people in general, in the district of Masina and its surroundings.
The Adam Larson Quartet is an American jazz group founded in 2008 by saxophonist Adam Larson, accompanied by three musicians: drummer Jason Burger, keyboardist Steve Feifke and bassist Martin Nevin.
The twenty young musicians from Kinshasa accompanying them on stage were selected at auditions conducted in December 2014 by Polyv’art and the Centre Wallonie Bruxelles, with young musicians from Espace Masolo.
The Jazz band performance in Kinshasa is part of an African tour. The concert is free.
