TMB is proud of our continued support of PJB

7.04.2016, Goma, DRC – TMB is proud of its continued support for the Congolese basketball academy Promo Jeune Basket (PJB) for many years now.

Promo Jeune Basket is an organization based in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo, that uses basketball to inspire young people to take a serious approach to their education and civil responsibilities. The objective is to educate the youth of Congo so that they can one day become responsible and educated adults who can contribute to the reconstruction of their country. PJB believes that education is essential in the development of a society. At sport level, PJB aims at training a generation of talented basketball players who will be able to represent this sport and their country at the highest level.

Celebrating the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace 2016, UNESCO has launched an online campaign promoting the role of sport in delivering education values.

In that context, UNESCO has published a photo book titled “The Power of Sport Values – Le Pouvoir des Valeurs du Sport”.

Pages 8 and 9 of the book are devoted to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Promo Jeune Basket itself.

TMB is proud to support an association that champions sport values education as central to skill-building, rounded development and a sense of belonging.
