TMB sponsors Music Fund in Bukavu

28.09.2016, Bukavu, DRC – TMB is proud to sponsor Music Fund activities in Bukavu.

The Music Fund project is being developed by Ndaro Culture, an association dedicated to the welfare of artists in Eastern DRC and to the sociocultural integration of children in difficult situations. The objectives of the association are:

-to ensure appropriate support for vulnerable children (street children, former child soldiers, orphans, children from underprivileged families);

-to provide them a reference to art through the Ndaro Culture cultural centre; a crossroads of artists and exhibition space;

-to allow the artists’ continuous training;

-to participate in the production and sale of the artists’ works.

The centre has an ongoing need for additional musical instruments, teaching materials and equipment for the professional recording studio.

Music Fund is a humanitarian organisation that supports musicians and music schools in conflict areas, developing countries, and in Belgium. Music Fund is collecting musical instruments in Europe, for repair and onwards distribution in Africa, the Middle East and Central America. Music Fund also trains instrument repairers and facilitates the exchange of teaching skills.

Music Fund is working with Ndaro Culture in the areas of provision of instruments, setting up a maintenance and repair workshop for instruments, training instrument repairers and providing instructional support.

We, at TMB, are conscious that music and art in general significantly contribute to the well-being of our community and we are proud to contribute to the success of this inspiring project.
