TMB Supporting Ebola Hackathon in Kinshasa

1.03.2019, Kinshasa, DRC – TMB is sponsoring and participating in Kinshasa’s Digital Week 2019, and is supporting the Ebola Hackathon, which is being held on 2 and 3 March 2019, at the Espace Texaf Bilembo in the city.

The theme of the Ebola Hackathon is: “How Ebola response agents can use better new technologies to achieve their communication and awareness goals in the field?”

A hackathon is an event in which a large number of people meet to engage in collaborative computer programming.

Ten teams of young people working in the fields of medicine, computer science, and communication have been selected to develop digital tools that will provide solutions to issues related to Ebola awareness in the DRC.

The winning team will be named and awarded during the Digital Week, taking place on 12 and 13 April.

Arsène Ntambuka Amani, TMB Business Development Manager, will participate in the event on 2 March, to explain how PEPELE Mobile helps in the distribution of funds for the purchase of medicines, and how the service supports engagement in the fight against the disease in areas of the country hit by Ebola.
