TMB Supporting ESPOIR DE VIE – LISANGA LYA ELIKYA

06.05.2019, Kinshasa, DRC – TMB is delighted to support ESPOIR DE VIE – LISANGA LYA ELIKYA (Hope of Life), and to sponsor the gala evening organised by the charity, on 10 May at 8.00 pm, at KinPlaza Arjaan by Rotana, in Kinshasa.

The evening, held as part of the celebrations to mark the fifteenth birthday of the organisation, aims to raise funds to enable Espoir de Vie – Lisanga Lya Elikya to continue and develop its activities. The event will be enhanced by the presence of an R&B star, Afro-pop latino. Other surprises will contribute to make for a memorable event.

ESPOIR DE VIE – LISANGA LYA ELIKYA is a not-for-profit Congolese organisation that raises funds to contribute to the realization of surgical interventions of disadvantaged Congolese children suffering from cardiac malformations (occasionally urological or digestive).

The organisation raises funds to contribute to the costs of cardiac surgery and hospitalisation of children in Belgium or France, as well as to finance air tickets.

Surgeries are made possible thanks to Chaîne de l’Espoir Belgique (Chain of Hope Belgium), a not-for-profit Belgian organisation, that Espoir de Vie – Lisanga Lya Elikya supports. Children are operated either in Brussels, at Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc (Saint-Luc University Clinic), or during occasional surgical missions in Kinshasa, organised for several years in close collaboration with Ngaliema Clinic and Chaîne de l’Espoir Congo (Chain of Hope Congo).

Since 2011, Espoir de Vie – Lisanga Lya Elikya also supports the French organisation Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque (Cardiac Surgery Philanthropy), financing the return flight for children operated on in France.

Espoir de Vie – Lisanga Lya Elikya can be justifiably proud of its achievements:

– Surgical missions in Kinshasa: 126 children operated (104 children in cardiology and 22 children in urology).

– Operations at Saint Luc University Clinic: 104 children.

– Operations in France: financing of plane tickets for about thirty children.
